Morning members

Plenty coming up so clear your schedules.

Next weekend our grade 1 team will continue their grade 1 pennant campaign when we take on Wiseman Park here under the dome on Sunday 24th at 10am. We are pleased to confirm that both Ryan Bester and Kevin Anderson will be in attendance for the game providing a great opportunity for all our members to come down and see what all the fuss is about.

Whilst here Ryan and Kevin have offered to do a members session which will commence at 4pm on the afternoon of Saturday 23rd. With this period being very busy within our normal weekly trading period the session will be conducted out on green 1 and will include an exhibition along with a driving competition between our two guests a couple of our members and perhaps some of the Wiseman Park players. We will also include a question and answer session but are requesting you submit some questions to the boys prior to their arrival, this should enable them to be prepared to provide the best possible answers.

With Ryan being a World Champion along with multiple Commonwealth and World Championship silver medals I expect some good questions for him. On the other hand Kevin is widely regarded as the best up and coming talent in the world and at 25 years of age the witty Scotsman will provide some entertaining answers to some interesting questions. Feel free to get online and research the boys if you are unsure what to ask, we need all questions submitted by Friday 22nd and I will select the best dozen to fire at them. You can either write the questions down and return them to me or email them directly to me.

Australian Championships

Australian ChampionshipsWow….
As the sun sets on the most prestigious bowling event ever held in Merimbula, the 2017 Australian Bowling Championships, it is time to reflect on the fantastic team effort that has made this event the outstanding success it is, a success that was several years in the making.
Many people contributed, and I would like to acknowledge and thank each and every one of you.
Most significantly, a massive thank you to Bowls Australia for giving Club Sapphire the opportunity, and to the best bowlers in Australia, for travelling to Merimbula to put on such a magnificent show. Whilst loaded with talent and exceptional skill, the stars of bowls are also very humble, unassuming and a great advertisement for the sport and what it is to be a great Australian.
