Reciprocal Rights

Members in golfing categories (Golfing or Bowling/Golfing) may be eligible for reciprocal rights with reciprocal clubs, subject to the provisions listed following.  It is a condition of reciprocity that Members contact the host venue to check course availability.

A reciprocal member shall enjoy full playing golf rights with payment of green fees, as follows:

  • Social play upon payment of 50% (one half) of the normal visitor green fee normally applicable (note that some reciprocal clubs allow social play at no charge - see "List of Reciprocal Clubs" for details);

  • Play in club competitions, other than major club/inter-club championship events, subject to payment of such entry/competition fees as are applicable to club members;

  • Playing golf at any time the course is open, subject to a visiting member’s entitlement to play being restricted to the same level of entitlement enjoyed by the member at his home club and subject, also, to such restrictions which may be imposed from time to time by the respective Match Committee in relation to the use of the course;

  • Win and retain a trophy in such competitions, except that no reciprocal member shall be eligible to win a club perpetual or inter-club trophy;

  • Have access to available amenities of the club house subject to such conditions which exist from time to time as to the use thereof, for example, dress rules, hours of operation, general decorum and standards of behaviour.

Residential Qualifications for Reciprocal Rights

The benefits provided apply only to members of reciprocal clubs who are temporarily visiting centres away from their homes.  Members who reside or intend to take up residence within a 100 kilometre radius of a reciprocal club are not eligible to avail of these benefits and must comply with all requirements for permanent membership of that club.
