The opening shot on the 1st Hole is played from an elevated tee to a reasonably generous fairway.

Looking back up to the 1st tee with the clubhouse behind

The tee shot should leave a short iron to a green that slopes rapidly from left to right.  Finishing in the bunker protecting the front left of the green leaves a difficult downhill bunker shot.
